This pink horse, pony is an original abstract painting by contemporary artist Patty Donoghue, completed in thick textured oil paint that has been embellished with wax medium to accentuate the lines and textures of this soft opaque material. The equine is in a abstract environment of a beach or flower field with a blue summer sky in the background. The original on a 12x12 wood panel is available and the prints may be made large in a multitude of materials. Donoghue continues to experiment in these soft wax oils, choosing bright pastel colors in bold purples, baby blue and pinks to show off the animal and the surrounding. The paints are completed in layers and while the artist adds more layers, she continues to remove and reveal surfaces below. The horse in the painting is light hearted happy and energetic while remaining abstract, impressionistic, surreal and imaginary to the viewer. Almost in a unicorn form this painting is a pleasure to the young and the old alike.
